5 Tips For Bringing More Nature Into Your Home

Hey y’all! Spring is right around the corner. How did that happen? Here a few tips for bringing nature into your home and reflecting those spring vibes all year long!

I feel so much better when I’m surrounded by nature! There is so much hustle and bustle in our world today, and it’s so nice to have that feeling of calm when everything else feels chaotic. A goal of mine when working with clients is to make sure to bring that feeling of nature indoors, bringing you that same calming effect.

Your home is a physical representation of how you feel, and should be a collection of the things that you love. You can promote wellness on the inside of your home that will make YOU feel better on the inside. What a win-win!

Have you ever heard of Biophilic Design? There are many distractions these days, and sometimes it feels like we have put nature on the back-burner when it’s one of the most important things for our mental and physical health. Biophilic design is changing that.

Biophilic design entails the use of sustainable, earth-friendly materials and, of course, LOTS of plants. It can also involve using natural textures, patterns, artwork, etc! Now, on to the good stuff! Let’s talk 5 ways to bring more nature into your home.

  1. Live Greenery

Having live plants in your home comes with many benefits! They can relieve stress, boost productivity and can even help you to focus. They also provide natural beauty in your home and help keep the indoor air clean for an optimal environment.

Here are a couple ideas for incorporating live greenery into your home!

Add a living wall! I think this is such a cute way to add not only a bit of nature but also some beautiful green color. Neon sign not necessary, but could be fun! You can have someone build these especially for you, or you can do it yourself! You’ll need a solid wall with plenty of space, planters, screws, and a hose or watering can. If you feel like the hose and water is a little much, you can always opt for a preserved wall. With this alternative, you can still have the greenery without the maintenance.

Plants sprinkled throughout the home. They are part of the decor! You can add them anywhere you like. On the floor, coffee table, or anywhere else you can think of.

On top of bookshelves is a great option. I’m not sure how realistic the example is above, but you could do this same look with a plant that grows upward.

Hanging plants! Did you know these were a thing? This is a fun way to incorporate plants so that they are out of the way but you can still incorporate nature as a part of the décor.

Add inside of bookshelves! You can add to their own shelf as shown, a special planter, or just place in a vase on top of a stack of books. There are endless possibilities here.
